Analýza vzťahov medzi hrubou substituovateľnosťou a slabou axiómou odhalenej preferencie vo funkciách prebytku dopytu. Axióma vyplýva zo substituovateľnosti ak je počet tovarov menej ako 4. Pre počet väčší alebo rovný 4 jestvujú robustné protipríklady, ktoré sa však vyskytujú veľmi zriedkavo.
